THE HAMPTONVILLE HAUNTINGS
BY ALEX MATSUO
Alex — who’ll be speaking at the 2023 Haunted America Conference — explores the mysterious history of the Trivette Clinic in North Carolina, which has been a hospital, supper club, rehab center, nursing home, and residence over the years. From reported paranormal activity tied to nurses, former patients, and mysterious children, it has both terrified and intrigued those who dare to walk through its doors. Starting in 2018, it continues to be one of her most compelling cases of paranormal activity — and she takes you along as she searches for answers! BUY HERE!

MYSTERIOUS MICHIGAN
BY AMBERROSE HAMMOND

You know her as one of the hosts of the amazing Ghostly Talk podcast but she’s also a longtime author and her new book is a doozy! From enigmatic mediums, murders, monsters, and macabre history, she delves into everything from witchcraft beliefs that drove a family insane to a millionaire’s will that was contested because he took advice from the spirits — and much more! You don’t have to be from Michigan to love this one — don’t miss it!! BUY HERE!

THE FEMININE MACABRE 4
A WOMAN’S JOURNAL OF ALL THINGS STRANGE AND UNUSUAL

The fourth edition of the all-female journal — edited and created by Amanda R. Woomer — is here with more essays written by women from all over the world, highlighting their research and theories on witchcraft, hauntings, folklore, dark history, tarot, cryptids, and more. You don’t have to be a woman to love everything about this journal, which delves into topics as varied as haunted places, spooky relics, tarot readings, Ouija boards, spirit communication, vampires, witches, and oh, so much more! Don’t miss a single one of these excellent collections! BUY HERE!

A HAUNTED HISTORY OF INVISIBLE WOMEN BY LEANNA RENEE HIEBER AND ANDREA JANES
Sorrowful widows, vengeful jezebels, innocent maidens, wronged lovers, former slaves, even the occasional killer—America’s female ghosts differ widely in background, class, and circumstance. Yet one thing unites them: their ability to instill fascination and fear, long after their deaths. While I know this sounds familiar, it’s not the same as the “Hell Hath No Fury” Series… Although it also offer stories of famous and little-known spirits and it offers a unique look at the haunted history of women in American history! DARK CARNIVALS BY W. SCOTT POOLE
One of my favorite books of the last few years was the author’s book, WASTELANDS — this is a fantastic follow-up! His histories of American horror are compelling reads and this time, he traces how, in the wake of World War II, America was swept by evil forces — from racism, exploitation, and military invasion to killer clowns, flying saucers, and monsters borne of a fear of the other.
Connecting the mushroom clouds of 1945 to the beaches of Amity Island, Charles Manson to the massacre at My Lai, and John Wayne to John Wayne Gacy, the new book reveals how the shadow of our national sins can take on the form of mass entertainment.

THE NEW ANNOTATED FRANKENSTEIN BY MARY SHELLEY
I know, this book can seem like a real slog instead of an amazing achievement by a 19-year-old novelist who defied her era’s restrictions on female ambitions by independently supporting herself and her children as a writer and editor. But — and hear me out — this new annotated edition from Leslie S. Klinger includes a foreword by Guillermo Del Toro, as well as nearly 1,000 notes that provide information and historical context on every aspect of Frankenstein and of Mary Shelley’s life, over 200 illustrations, including original artwork from the 1831 edition and dozens of photographs of real-world locations that appear in the novel, plus extensive listings of films and theatrical adaptations and more! You NEED this book! BUY HERE!

SLEEPING AMONG SPIRITS
BY ERIN TAYLOR

A frequent contributor to the Morbid Curious Journal, Erin’s first book delves into some of the most haunted hotels, inn, and bred and breakfasts around the country — each with documented lingering spirits. But this is not just another travel guide. Erin poses a compelling question — what would happen if you slept in haunted locations and allowed the resident spirits access to your dreams? It’s the time when we are the most vulnerable — can this change our perception of hauntings? BUY HERE!

AMERICAN DEMON
BY DANIEL STASHOWER

I’ll be honest, I would have loved whatever Daniel published next, but I was excited to see that he was taking a fresh look at the Cleveland Torso Killer and Eliot Ness’ hunt for the killer. In 1934, the madman left a dozen bodies scattered throughout the city and, seemingly, could not be stopped. As terror gripped the city, the public turned to “Untouchable” Eliot Ness, who was the newly-appointed director of public safety — who now had to confront a killer that ended his career in the way that Al Capone could not. There have been other books on the Torso Killer — but nothing like this one! BUY HERE!

THE MORBID CURIOUS NO. 6 - SPECIAL NEW ORLEANS ISSUE FALL 2022

Sorry, I know this is a shameless plug for our own journal, but I wouldn’t recommend it if I didn’t think you’d like it! The sixth issue of the Morbid Curious is the ongoing journal from American Hauntings, bringing you tales of ghosts, hauntings, true crime, and the unexplained from the haunted history of America. This year’s Halloween issue is a special New Orleans-themed issue with articles on ghosts, hauntings, vampires, voodoo, graveyards, true crime, and murder by Troy Taylor, Amanda R. Woomer, Gina Armstrong, Erin Taylor, Amelia Cotter, Bryanne Schexnayder, and More!
